Holy Island is named that for the fact that it retains the ruins of an ancient Mea'lan temple. In fact this island chunk used to be the garden and temple district of the original Mea'lan city. The gardens are still filled with a variety of lush plants but are now a breeding ground for Aganthis's growing Nysium infestation. No one knows exactly where they came from but they have out-adapted much of the native plants and now have a thriving community.

Holy Island is frequently visited by herbalists and magic users looking to harvest reagents. The Nysium have built and entire mythology around this process. It is now not that uncommon for Nysium to 'adventure out' to the other islands of Aganthis by riding on the backs of gods. Sadly, they never return.
