Racial Features:
Bonded to Slug

Slug is a kirin that has a face that only his mother could have loved. Of all kirin he is more a thing to be pitied and hated than admired for its beauty. His body is thick and cumbersome, like the difference between a greyhound and a bulldog but most of it is muscle. He weighs nearly twice that of the average kirin, and is slower by comparison but considerably stronger. The monster has very little fur as most of its body is covered in very dense, thick scale in a muddy mottled brown color marred by blackish splotches which make him look diseased though more recently his scale has developed into a thick hard grayish plate which has started to make him more resembling a triceratops.

Rather than a graceful horse or serpentine neck, the beast's head seems to settle right into its shoulders giving it a large rounded frame like a giant frog. It has one long curved black horn protruding from its nose and it's fanged mouth is immense, seeming to take up most of its head. Sadly the beast is also not very smart.

Personality:
Kenshin's attitude can be purely ugly at times and then he can seem like a saint. The ugliness has been dampened by his recent trials and miseries to the extent that he's more willing to reach out to others when he needs it and offer his own hand to help when others are in need.

In the past he's had a sense of entitlement with respect to the title of warlord and was perfectly happy living a rich, lavish and wasteful life. Since then he's been forced to reexamine himself over and over again. Living in a cold cell for months after long months has forced him to look inward and see things about himself that he would rather not dwell on.

A divine experience with the Spirit of Faith has left him with a touch more spirituality than he used to possess. He's more likely to consider spirits in combination with his usua considerations. He's more likely to accept certain emotional responses in his relationships with others. In particular he's more willing to embrace the notion of love.

While not exactly 'mature', and still quite vain he is not the same man he was months ago. In many respects he's abandoned his ambitions and tried to be more honest with himself and others about who he is and what he represents.
Appearance:
Kenshin is uncomfortably thin ever since his brush with illness and subsequent imprisonment. He appears to be a phantom of what he used to be, physically narrower, somewhat haggard. And yet these are all things that would improve given proper nourishment and a chance to rest.

Normally Kenshin would be considered an attractive man by most. His features are soft, rounded and almost feminine, gently curved lips, a rounded nose, sweet baby-blue eyes. His long silver-white hair which had been a strong representation of his pride was shorn short in the efforts of Armaris and Ekko to keep him hidden and now falls only as far as his chin.
History:
Kenshin Marsin was raised the son of Aina and Fayt Marsin. His mother was among the prettiest of Warlord Fayt's wives and there were only a few people aside from Fayt who were even aware that the boy was the result of an affair. He was fortunate that he inherited his mother's silvery hair else it might have been more obvious that he was not a true descendent of the Marsin line. Aina was also the mother of Kenshin's older brother Xepher and so the two were half-brothers even though Kenshin was not technically a Marsin.

Kenshin did not know this for much of his life and would have continued being ignorant to his true origins had his mother not sent him a letter after Fayt Marsin's death (during the plague) explaining the truth in the form of a tearful confession. In a way, for Kenshin the letter had offered him some closure. At last he understood why his father had seemed to hate him for all those years. The old man had known that Kenshin was not of his own blood.

Nevertheless it had been a strange twist of fate or irony which had led to his arrival in Myanar. His brother Xepher had been Warlord of Yangon and Kenshin had been pleased to take the role of Commissioner. Kenshin had been a terrible commissoner, doing little to discourage bribe-taking and abusing the authority granted by his title all the while attempting to present the outward appearance of a respectable, honorable man in hopes that he might one day replace the then-blind Xepher as warlord.

It came to pass that Xepher sought to start a family and claim a wife for himself. Kenshin, similarly had to do the same for himself and in so doing began to court Khepri Zahra, a young woman who was employed by his brother. At the time he did not know that she was already pregnant with his brother's daughter. Surprisingly enough, in a fit of emotion Xepher later abdicated as warlord giving the title to Kenshin and claimed it was for the love of a woman (Khepri).

Xepher later disappeared into the desert and was believed to be dead. Needless to say Kenshin foolishly continued his wanton ways failing to end his relationship with Lord Rune on Khepri's behalf and later starting an affair with Prince Armaris La'Font. His relationship with Khepri crumbled with the birth of his niece and he was left alone once again.

It may as well have been for the better. When the plague came Kenshin was among those afflicted. The inner circle was struck particularly hard. There were even some who speculated that someone had deliberately infected the lot of them in hopes that they could bring about revolution.

Stubborn as he was, Kenshin fought the illness. His body had been strong and healthy before the sickness had taken him and he was determined to break the plague before it broke him. It seemed as if he was likely to succeed right up to and a little while after the great fire burned Myanar to ruin.

The outpost had been established and it seemed as if things were moving in the right direction toward restoring order when Kenshin was forced to retire for an indefinite period. He was very ill and convinced that he would die. For many months he suffered with fever and chills and slipped into what seemed like a neverending delirium, though it might have also been the fault of some tonics that had been administered to counter some of the more deadly plague symptoms.

It seemed as if the world had forgotten him when he woke to his senses. Alone in darkness, suffering in squalor he had been closed up in a filthy cell to finish out his days in a sickly dementia. He had no notion of how long he had been there but he soon learned that Prince Armaris was the culprit and his captor.

Since then he managed to escape with the help of Axel the Wicked, Hidoi Marsin, and Rufus Dragon. For a time he struggled for an existence in the Onise slums keeping a low profile while anticipating the arrival of Hidoi's twins. He made money working for Galon Scarab in his stables. Hidoi gave birth to two babies but one was stillborn. Once things seemed to settle down and Hidoi was able to start bringing in some income on her own Kenshin started wanting to find his way again.

Completely by accident, he ran into Lord Rune Madear one day. Unable to resist a chance to live the high life again, Kenshin let Rune tempt him into a journey back to Vione where, completely by accident, he stumbled onto the tail end of a meeting that his impostor, Ekko Inigo was supposed to be attending. They all assumed he was the Warlord so he went along with it. At the end of the meeting Armaris La'Fonte disavowed himself of any power in New Ethus leaving Kenshin free to try to fix things.

Once back in New Ethus he sent soldiers searching for the impostor to no avail. The man turned into a weasel making him very difficult to catch. After reviewing, with a heavy heart what had transpired in his absence, Kenshin resolved to move everything back to Myanar, to rebuild and put the rest of it behind him. Things were starting to move in the right direction right up until some men arrived from Silver asking, no demanding that he answer a great many questions. When he was not able to answer them to their satisfaction they incarcerated him and informed him that he was on trial.

Since then he has been released into the custody of Prince Armaris due to a series of miscommunications and is not in a tremendous hurry to return to Ethian territories.
