Ani is as light-hearted and mild as his mother is calculating. The pair of them are like night and day. He knows some of the most powerful wizards in Aganthis on a first name basis, though mostly through his mother. He has no qualms with name-dropping but is generally more interested in doing things he considers 'fun'. He's open, and easy to befriend. He is also far too trusting for his own good.

He has strong, effective wings with fair bluish feathers. He is often a big help to those trying to learn to levitate with Ionic Magic since he is not reliant upon a harness. His wings are probably his strongest feature though since his Vpera half has left him with a relatively fragile frame without any sort of regeneration. He has tried to build some muscle but his body refuses to bulk up much.

He has a talent for Mea'lan metalworking and though he has not mastered it he is still learning how to use it to help the fixers repair Aganthis.

Personality:

Ani has always been a bright-eyed optimist. He likes to always see the bright side of things and search for the best in any person he meets. Even when he's let down for some reason he tries to find the silver lining and move past it posthaste.

Since he is so very optimistic he generally finds some reason to be happy regardless of what is going on around him which tends to make others think he's something of an ignorant boob. It's not that he doesn't care or doesn't see what's going on, he just doesn't like to expend energy being sad.

Most people who have come to know him well realize that the happy thing is more on the surface than anything else. He does have deeper emotions and sometimes they do come out. In fact, he does occasionally have a down day when nothing seems happy with him. It'll fall over him like a shadow especially if he's been through something especially sad or difficult but once he's struggled with it for awhile he'll be back to his usual self.

He likes for other people to be happy too and usually goes out of his way to brighten up the few people he knows in the lower ward even though it is often difficult for him to relate to them. Having been raised by a member of the wizard council he's never really had to work hard for anything. Those of a lower social/economic bracket may think he has foolish idealistic dreams but he doesn't see it that way.

Appearance:

Anicetus looks odd. He would be the perfect vision of a fair Vpera if he were not blue. His skin is bluish, his wing feathers are bluish and even his hair is bluish. Fortunately his eyes are not blue, but instead have taken his mother's deep brown and faded it back to a far lighter shade. He is also very pale.

His mother's skin is milky white but Ani's skin is white-blue light the brightest daytime sky in fact he is almost difficult to see during the early part of the day in flight on a cloudless day.

Some consider him beautiful, others think him very strange to look upon for his coloration. He takes staring well though and generally does not mind preferring it as an opportunity to meet new people.

History:

Anicetus is a perfect example of a child born to the privileged class of Aganthis. They are not nobility but the enjoy the best benefits of the Aerie Estates and the Tower of Storms. His mother is a member of the Wizard Council and has been for over a generation.

His mother has always dealt with him in a detached way. Her relationship with his father was more one of convenience and mutual benefit than of love or true interest. She also has never been especially fond of Ani's appearance. As a dark-haired Vpera she would have preferred him to look more like her older daughter Cosmina than the deathly blue creature that he is. She often says that he looks like the dead.

His father is far more accepting of him and welcoming of his strange coloration since blue is a color of status and admiration among the Mea'lan. Unfortunately Ani's mother was very possessive of him and preferred to tend to his upbringing primarily on her own.

As he aged though, he often rejected learning his mother's Frost Magic preferring to learn more about his father's Ionic Magic. There was bitter fighting and his mother went to great lengths to coerce him into learning more Frost Magic because it was part of his 'heritage'.

In his teens he fell in with a group of friends who were heavily into the Fixers guild. He has since been pulled into that sect, taking a great interest in Aganthis's history and theories on how to put it back to right in an engineering sense.
