Creating a Character

Register an account for your character on the Forum.
Before you create a character for Artistic Shade, take the time to read through our Membership Terms if you have not already.
Finally, read through the setting information and the page on Advanced Skills. There is also a page on Available Roles.
Look through the available races and select one for your character.
If you are still having difficulty with your character read through the major and individual plots for ideas that will work with the plotlines that are already in progress. A great deal of information has been gathered here in the wiki to provide some inspiration.
Or failing that, join the conversation in the cbox to ask for help.
Once you have an idea in mind, open up the user control panel (this link should do it if you were logged into the forum)
Select the 'Profile' tab and it should automatically open your profile for editing. Most of the character sheet fields are self-explanatory. The first of them is under the first entry labeled 'Birthday' which is unused. The 2nd birthday is referring to the month and day of your character's birth.
Post a note to the New Submissions forum That you are ready for review.
In 1-2 days the admin should get back to you on whether or not anything needs to be changed or if you are approved for play. You will then have access to post.

Pick up some writing partners in the cbox and run with it.
Post a thread and hope for the best.
Join an open thread.
Other players are usually glad to incorporate new players into their existing plots unless they say they are not open to more people.
